About the Queensland Media Club
The Queensland Media Club presented by Bendigo Bank and Brisbane
Airport Corporation, formerly
known as the Queensland Press Forum, is the official political,
business and media forum of the Queensland Parliamentary Media
Gallery.
The Queensland Media Club hosts a series of luncheons each year
providing a forum for key business leaders and decision makers,
political representatives and media. Each luncheon is attended
by up to 300 guests and potentially more depending on the invited
keynote speaker.
Past speakers have included:
- Senator The Hon Penny Wong, Minister for Climate Change and Water
- The Hon Peter Garrett AM MP, Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts
- Noel Pearson, Director of the Cape York Institute
- The Hon Anna Bligh MP, Premier of Queensland
- The Hon Andrew Fraser MP, Treasurer of Queensland
At each event, speakers give a 20 minute address on a topical
issue, followed by a 10 minute question time for media over a three
course lunch. The function abides by Parliamentary Media Gallery
protocol with journalists representing news organisations asking
questions in a "press conference" style forum.
The Media Club is organised and managed by Business and Marketing
Communications consultancy, Three Plus, for the Queensland Parliamentary
Media Gallery.
